MARY MARTIN - HAPPY GO LUCKY 1943
This is a Technicolor musical starring Mary Martin
A cigarette girl who blows her life savings on a Caribbean cruise
in pursuit of a stuffy millionaire (Rudy Vallee).
Naturally in true Hollywood fashion, she gets sidetracked by endless comic crises and plot snafus, a handsome beachcomber (Dick Powell) and bombastic Betty Hutton, who steals the movie with a show stopping rendition of Frank Loesser's great song "Murder He Says".
As Mary Martin learned to her lifelong chagrin, there was nothing you could do if you shared the screen with Betty Hutton except get out of the way.
With Eddie Bracken, Mabel Paige, Clem Bevans.
Songs include "Let's Get Lost", which later became a trademark song for jazz singer-trumpet player Chet Baker.
